Aluminium AODD Pump

Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps are versatile and reliable devices used in various industries for the transfer of liquids. Here’s an overview of their key features and functionalities:

Description

AODD Pumps use compressed air as a power source to operate. They consist of two diaphragms, hence the name double diaphragm. The operation involves alternating chambers that fill and discharge fluid through the movement of the diaphragms.

Key Components

  1. Diaphragms: Two flexible membranes that move back and forth to create suction and discharge.
  2. Air Valve: Directs compressed air to the diaphragms alternately, enabling the pumping action.
  3. Check Valves: Prevent backflow and ensure fluid moves in the correct direction.
  4. Manifolds: Direct the flow of fluid in and out of the pump chambers.

Operation

  1. Air Intake: Compressed air enters the pump and is directed by the air valve to one diaphragm, causing it to move outward.
  2. Suction Stroke: As one diaphragm moves outward, the other moves inward, creating suction that draws fluid into the chamber.
  3. Discharge Stroke: The diaphragms then switch roles, with the previously expanded diaphragm contracting to push fluid out while the other diaphragm expands to draw in more fluid.
  • Chemical Processing: Handling aggressive chemicals and solvents.
  • Food and Beverage: Transferring food products, beverages, and additives.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Moving sensitive fluids in a controlled manner.
  • Mining: Handling slurry and abrasive materials.
  • Water Treatment: Pumping wastewater, sludge, and chemicals.
